The Short Version

TARS has no backend. We collect absolutely nothing. Zero data leaves your device and reaches us, because there is no server on our end to receive it.

No Data Collection

TARS does not collect, store, transmit, or process any user data whatsoever. There is no backend server, no database, no analytics, no telemetry, and no tracking of any kind. We have no ability to see who uses the app, how they use it, or what they do with it.

No Backend

Unlike most apps, TARS operates with zero server infrastructure on our end. The app connects directly from your iPhone to your own OpenClaw device over your private Tailscale VPN tunnel. All communication is peer-to-peer between devices you own and control. Krafty Apps LLC operates no servers that the app communicates with.

Local Storage Only

All app data — your paired device information, preferences, dashboard layout, and settings — is stored locally on your iPhone. Nothing is synced to any cloud service. Uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data.

No Accounts

TARS does not require or support user accounts, registration, email addresses, or sign-in of any kind.

No Analytics or Tracking

TARS contains no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting services, no usage tracking, no A/B testing, and no advertising frameworks. We literally cannot tell if you have the app installed.

Network Communication

The only network traffic TARS generates is between your iPhone and your own OpenClaw device over your private Tailscale tunnel. This traffic is encrypted end-to-end via WireGuard and is invisible to us and to the public internet.

Push Notifications

If you enable push notifications, a device token is registered with OneSignal solely to deliver alerts from your OpenClaw instance to your phone. Push notifications are generic messages that let you know your OpenClaw has content or messages waiting for you — they contain virtually no user data. No message content, conversation text, or personal information is included in the notification payload itself. All actual content is delivered securely over your private Tailscale tunnel when you open the app.

The notification payloads are generated by your own OpenClaw device — not by Krafty Apps LLC. We do not have access to your notification content, device tokens, or any data associated with your push notifications. OneSignal is used only as a delivery relay; it does not receive or store any of your OpenClaw content.

TARS Channel Plugin

During setup, TARS provisions a lightweight channel plugin on your OpenClaw instance. This plugin enables your OpenClaw agents to send messages to the TARS app. The plugin runs entirely on your own OpenClaw device — it is not hosted by Krafty Apps LLC. When an agent sends a message to the TARS channel, the plugin buffers the content server-side on your device and triggers a content-free push notification to wake the app. The actual message content is then delivered securely over your private Tailscale tunnel when the app connects — no message content ever passes through our systems or any third-party service.

Device Permissions

TARS may request device permissions (camera, microphone, location, contacts, calendar, reminders, HomeKit). All permissions are used locally on your device for features you initiate. No permission data is ever sent to Krafty Apps LLC — because, again, we have no server to send it to.

Children's Privacy

TARS is not directed at children under 13. Since we collect no data from anyone, we collect no data from children.

Changes

We may update this policy if the app's architecture changes. Any updates will be posted on this page.
